Masking your images in Photoworks

Have you ever tried adding a decal to your Photoworks image to find that the background is a nuisance? Well this can be fixed easily by creating a “Masked image”. It is an image just like the one you made, except you use the color black to indicate the area of the image you want to remove. See the Example below:


The tags on my F-104 Star Fighter were all done with Masked Decals. The below examples are from that Photoworks model.

What you see above is masking a decal. What is going to happen is the black on the masking decal is going to remove the white around the Actual Decal and all you will see is the black lettering in your decal.

- This is the finished look. As you can see it removed the background and left me just the text.

If I had not used a Masked image this is would have been the result:


This is unacceptable when rendering, because the background is seen.
